Nike running shoes are the latest style to receive the popular Fuse technology that has been used to reduce weights on Nike sneaker designs. The technology that uses a mesh material with traditional materials in a uniquely bonded way that avoids using stitching. So far we’ve seen it the popular Zoom Hyperfuse basketball shoe but today it arrives on the highly anticipated remake of the Nike Air Flow, now equipped with Lunar technology and named the Nike Lunar Flow.
LunarLon cushioning takes up residence in the midsole, with strategically placed BRS rubber in high-wear areas on the outsole. The aforementioned Fuse technology that ties together the one-piece upper, combined with lightweight LunarLon, keeps the weight of the Nike Lunar Flow at a feather-like 7.8 ounces. Two colorways of the new design are now available, one features Neon Lime, Black and White, and a second colorway comes in Photo Blue, Voltage Cherry and White.

Rose is seen in a familiar pose, one that the rest of the NBA was on the receiving end of countless times this season, preparing to throw down a reverse dunk that is quickly becoming Rose’s signature move.
On his feet is the latest in the line of adidas basketball shoes, the Derrick Rose colorway of the adidas adiZero Crazy Light. Now that adidas has created the lightest basketball shoe ever, what’s next? More of these impressive dunks from Derrick Rose of course!

Sir Charles has been getting a lot of heat lately for voicing his opinion but with signature shoes like the Nike Air Max CB 34, it seems like Chuck is equally responsible for dishing out the heat as well. The original Phoenix Suns inspired colorway of the CB 34 was the feature of one of our recent Eastbay Memory Lane posts that revisited some of Barkley’s accomplishments on the court throughout the nineties but the return of this classic really doesn’t need much explaining.
The Nike Air Max CB 34 in this combination of White, Varsity Purple, and Orange Blaze is what Barkley wore in his Phoenix Suns days. The fact that Charles came the closest to an NBA Title in Phoenix, and also wore the Air Max CB 34 as a member of the Dream Team in the Olympics, makes it a must have for many collectors and especially fans of “the round mound of rebound.”

The adidas adiZero Crazy Light has been getting a lot of attention in the days leading up to its release, but for the casual fan, adidas Originals is also lightening things up for the summer. The adidas adiZero Originals Forum Crazy Light is a reworked version of one of adidas’ most popular models.

Each year, Major League Baseball Players take to the field wearing Stars & Stripes fitteds in the Red, White and Blue of the United States flag. For Memorial Day, Independence Day, and for those lucky enough to be voted on to the MLB All-Star teams, players are given the special makeup colors to pay tribute to our country, our troops serving in our military, and America’s pastime.
This year’s Stars & Stripes on-field hats from New Era are the popular 59FIFTY models. While last year’s version featured a colored bill in either blue or red, and a white upper with a color-matched (to the bill) team logo. The 2011 Stars & Stripe fitted hat features a unique look with a similar approach. The 2011 version uses the same red or blue bill configuration but with the upper panels, the front panels remain white, while the surrounding panels are matched to the color of the bill. Check out some of the colorways below.

Justin Upton and his adidas Diamond King cleats have taken the D-Backs from last to first.
words // Nick Engvall
The
Arizona Diamondbacks were one of the worst teams in Major League Baseball last season. This season, it looked as if they were on the same pace as last, until recently that is. The Diamondbacks have been one of the hottest teams in the league over the last couple of weeks and have taken the National League West by storm. Outfielders Justin Upton and Chris Young have led Arizona to an 8-2 record over their last ten games, including a seven game winning streak.
Over the weekend, in honor of Memorial Day, teams unveiled this year’s
Stars and Stripes New Era fitted hats. This year’s version is similar to last year’s in that it uses two versions, a blue based, and a red based colorway. However, where last year’s was predominately white throughout the top, this year’s version matches the bill color on the back panels. Check them out in action below in the latest

After a busy offseason that has included the signings of incoming rookies like Von Miller, Prince Amukamara, Titus Young, Kyle Rudolph and Randall Cobb, adidas Football has added a couple more newcomers to their lineup for the upcoming season. Officially joining the 3-Stripes family this summer are wide receivers Leonard Hankerson of the Washington Redskins and Edmond Gates of the Miami Dolphins.
Chosen 79th Overall by the Washington Redskins in the Third Round of the 2011 NFL Draft, Leonard Hankerson is a standout wideout from the University of Miami. In his senior campaign, Hankerson set single-season school records with 72 catches, 1,156 receiving yards and 13 receiving touchdowns. He further established himself as one of the fastest and most athletic receivers in this year’s draft with five catches for 99 yards and a touchdown at the Senior Bowl and running a 4.43 40-yard-dash at the NFL Combine.
“My game is all about speed,” said the All-ACC wide receiver Hankerson. “Being a half step faster than the defense is what made the difference in my games at Miami. Playing football in the NFL means I’ve got to bring everything I’ve got and really focus on being even faster. adidas is making the lightest cleats out there right now and in the NFL, I know I’m going to need a light cleat that keeps me fast and gives me the confidence I need to join the ranks of the other fast NFL receivers coming out of the U.”
Edmond Gates was selected 111th Overall by the Miami Dolphins in the Fourth Round. Out of little known Abilene Christian in Texas, Gates was named a Division II All-American in his senior season after catching 66 balls for 1,182 yards and 13 touchdowns in leading the Wildcats to an 11-0 regular season record. His 4.37 40-yard-dash at the NFL Combine was the fastest time among wide receivers and in the top five overall.
“I consider myself to be one of the fastest players in this year’s draft,” said Abilene Christian’s record setting wide receiver Gates. “I signed with adidas because of the adiZero 5-Star. The cleat is super lightweight and comfortable. It looks good and feels great and because it’s so lightweight it will help me take my speed to the next level and play even faster.”
All of adidas’ new acquisitions this offseason have been made to compliment the launch of the lightest and fastest cleat in football, the adiZero 5-Star. Weighing in at just 6.9 ounces, the adiZero 5-Star was on display in February as the NFL prospects in Indianapolis who ran the fastest 40-yard-dash times at each position, all wore the lightweight cleat.
“Football players are faster than ever before,” said Mark Daniels, director of football for adidas. “Players at all levels are looking for an edge to keep them fast and we’ve changed the game with the new adiZero 5-Star. Both Hankerson and Gates are going to be equipped with the lightest cleat in football to help them make an immediate impact in the NFL.”

LeBron James in the Nike LeBron 8 PS and Dwyane Wade in the Jordan Fly Wade.
words // Nick Engvall
The Miami Heat continued their recent hot streak in the opening game of the NBA Finals. Miami’s smothering defense held Dirk Nowitzki to 27 points on 7-18 shooting, and shutting down the bench of the Dallas Mavericks as well.
Offensively LeBron James put up 24 points, Dwyane Wade added 22 points, and Chris Bosh scored 19 points. With the Game 1 victory the Big 3 move to within 3 wins of the NBA Title that brought them all to South Beach in the first place. LeBron James added 9 rebounds and 5 assists, Bosh grabbed 9 rebounds, and Wade added 10 boards, 6 assists and 2 blocked shots in the 92-84 win.
Nowitzki’s injured finger on his off hand may have been cause for concern for Dallas and their fans, but the Miami defense down the stretch should be the real concern for the Mavericks. Dallas was held to just 37% from the field, despite holding the Heat to 39% shooting. Miami, with home court advantage in this series, have yet to lose at home in the postseason, and it doesn’t look like they plan to do so anytime soon.
